Shani Davis Makes Olympic Speedskating Team

Shani Davis, is the first black American to make the 2002 U.S. Short Track Olympic Speedskating team. A Chicago, Illinois native, Davis has made five Jr. World teams (three short track and two long track). He also has a bye for his third Jr.World being held in Collabo, Italy.

Davis is the only speedskater to be on both long and short track Junior Worlds Team and he always finished in the top 10. He is currently the American record holder in the 1000m for short track.
