Shakisha
Jackson was the recipient of an IMA scholarship
that assisted her on an exchange trip to Japan in
the summer of 2000. Ms. Jackson, an 11th grader who
attends Oxon Hill High School in Oxon Hill, Maryland
is enrolled in the Science and Technology Program.
While in Japan she represented the state of Maryland
in meetings with Japanese government officials.
Ms. Jackson is her class
treasurer, a member of the junior varsity softball
and volleyball teams, a recipient of the General
Outstanding Leadership and Development Award,
Japanese Honor Society Vice President, a
representative of the class of 2002's Technology
Advisory Board, Mock Trial team captain, a Teen
Court Lawyer and Juror, and a member of the Gospel
Choir.

Imani Land of
Franklin Township, New Jersey is a 9 year old
gymnast who is already compiling a list of
accomplishments. Last September, 2000 she received
a scholarship from the International Medalist
Association, and in December she broke the state
record for vaulting at the New Jersey State
Gymnastic Championships.
"T-T", her nickname,
began practicing gymnastics at the age of 3. She
attends Middlesex Gymnastic Academy and is in the
fourth grade at Conerly Road School in Franklin.
"T-T' says she likes
gymnastics because, "It's the hardest sport. It's
the best sport I've ever done." She also sings in
the school choir.
